@stefano664 - you should find ebook-viewer-portable.exe in the folder where you installed portable, try deleting it and then 'reinstall' portable.
Another possibility is the drive you're installing it on is close to full. IIRC the portable install unpacks the calibre-portable-installer-?????.exe to a temporary sub-folder in the install location, it then moves components from there into the destination sub-folders, and then deletes the temporary sub-folder.
