I have about 680 books from Kobo, so I'll admit I haven't checked all of them. I haven't always been good on keeping track, but, whenever I have looked the book is still available to me.
For the books in question, when I click on the link in the "My books" section, I get taken to a page saying "this book is no longer available" or words to that effect. In at least one case, the same book is still available for purchase - clearly a revised/corrected edition, one that Kobo considers a different book and wants me to buy AGAIN. That ain't gonna happen. I think it was about the third time it happened to me that I wised up and downloaded ALL my Kobo purchases, which is now my automatic procedure.
