All light that goes into your eyes....goes into your eyes. That's how you see.
And WHO is reading with a white background in low light? High contrast light is uncomfortable.
Here's a test. Look at the sun. For you...look at it a good 5 minutes. Ok. That's direct light.
Now, take a mirror, and look at the sun from the mirror. For you...do this for 10 minutes.
Once your eye sight returns...understand that "reflected light is somehow magical" is complete rubbish.
Next...go to a completely dark room. Light a small match. Stare at the match. Doesn't hurt your eyes, even though the light is directly into your eyes.
You still might prefer eInk...but it's not due to the "magic of bouncing light"
