This question has been solved. It was not a Koreader bug.

The above code is correct. Koreader can display it like it should.

but

There are two menus dealing with notes in Koreader, and I was only aware of the first one, the one you find with Style tweaks (Ajustements de style).

The second menu dealing with notes can be found on the adresses given on screenshot1. Not only I did not know it existed, but it had two values ticked by default. The second value must be unticked (like in screenshot 2) if you wish to get a correct display of image links.
