It only applies if you use the same brand viewer (if THAT allow sync).
In addition, that info is/may not available to Calibre upon connection.
I can understand why Kovid did not put too much effort into making ebook-viewer provide that. It only would work with that viewer.

I always wanted some sort of
GoTo in editor Plugins that would allow me to enter a specific Brands location (eg Kindles LOC) and have it jump to that spot (fixing an error I spotted
while reading )
