Just got the Kindle Kids Edition on Prime Day, as our bunch of Kindle Keyboards are wearing out. The reading experience, so far, with a side-loaded eBook, is excellent. The 2 year warranty, and the case, for $10 over the adult model price, was definitely worth it. My wife and I were always wary of ones without page turn switches, but the touch screen has obviously improved in the last seven years.

A quick google search fails to find anything on how repairable this model is, and I never recommend anything that can’t be repaired. But since my last attempt to merge three broken Kindle Keyboards, into one that worked, was an utter failure, I may have to give up on that way of thinking. If you see an old guy on the Philadelphia subway, with the kiddie birds-cover Kindle, it could be me.
