Can't read .cbz files with special characters in the .jpg filenames

I have these .cbz files that the Forma rejects out of hand despite them being readable on Windows. It seems that the cause is non-standard characters, because after unzipping the .cbz, batch renaming the image files to just numbers, re-zipping and renaming the file and importing it again, the Forma is satisfied and I am able to read. Additionally, manga files without special characters in them do just fine. However, this is a big hassle as I have many such files with the same issue. Is there a quicker workaround?
