I typically just buy a few household necessities during Prime day, and wait until Black Friday/Monday sales to get the goodies. I did splurge this PD and buy the Echo Buds 2nd gen, but even at that I only spent about $26 out of pocket immediately. When you figure in the other four payments I will make on the Buds, it still comes out to a bit less than $90 total including tax for items that normally would have totaled up to a bit over $150 including tax, so that saved me about $60. So I had a good PD for the first time.
