You will need to use Crostini (Linux for ChromeOS) if your Acer chromebook supports it. Even then, there are ongoing issues with USB support for connecting an ereader. A Google search should find you more information. You can also check this thread from last year: Calibre on Chromebook Linux for some information, issues, etc.

Depending on the size of your local storage, this may be a pretty useless task.
