Kindle app: strange rollout of Guided View options

A couple of weeks ago an update for Kindle app on iOS appeared (version 6.43). One of the release notes states:

Quote:
Customize your comic reading experience with new Guided View settings, found in the Aa menu
However, no Aa menu is available.

Kindle for Android (v 8.43.0.100) has the same release note, and does show an Aa menu, but none of the options have to do with Guided View.

Finally, Kindle for FireOS (v 14.43.100), which has no release notes (it is updated silently and you have to stumble on new features as they appear), does have Aa menu and there are options for Guided View, Letterboxing, and Layout. I assume this is what we’re supposed to be seeing on iOS and Android as well (I did force quit on both platforms but it did not change anything).

It’s interesting that the three apps all have ‘43’ in them, so there appears to be an effort to keep common features in sync. But apparently it is one of those features they roll out over a period of time to different groups of users.

I contacted customer service (by email) and got the usual clueless response.
