Do check the MRPI log, I don't always validate the Python 2 install (because, hello, it's Python 2 -_-"), so it's entirely possible something stopped supporting Python 2 in the distribution.
You ought to have noticed by the giant "failure" exclamation mark on screen during the install, though.
