The font size is not an absolute font size and can work with what is set in the book. If the book set the font to say, 2em, then what you see will be larger than if the book left it to the default. If I buy books from Kobo, I generally read the kepub. But, occasionally, the font and other styling is so bad that I get the epub, fix it, and read that. Books that come from elsewhere, I tend to edit and fix before I put them on the device. And if I have to do a conversion first, I will definitely edit them.
