Jon, you can't argue anything based on the picture you posted. It is a screenshot from a Youtube video of two different ereaders displaying different editions of a manga. Add to that the Kindle is showing some sort of extra image on top of it (near the bottom in the centre) that could affect the image and that the lighting is uneven (clearly more glare/reflection off the left side of the Kindle), and it isn't a valid comparison.
