Video driver too old? Also Sigil does not use the registry. It has its own sigil.ini. You can try renaming that and Sigil will recreate it with basic settings.

My guess is since neither Calibre or Sigil will start, you have video card issues and should try updating to the latest driver.

You might have Anti-Virus or Defender software interfering as well.
