I think I installed it a few of years ago to watch an Apple Event as it was suggested to use it back then. However, that might have been on an Apple TV 3rd gen. Typing “apple event” in the Apple TV app shows the current and past events you can watch. I always just used the Apple Events app though. Oh well I can delete that app now. You would think that during an event Apple would place it front and center on the home page of the Apple TV app rather than make you hunt for it.

It makes more sense just to use the Apple TV app, so I can see why they are retiring the Apple Events app. It is also more consistent with viewing the events on iPads and non-Apple streaming devices.
