Adams, Cleve F: The Evil Star (1944), v1, 27 May 2021

A 1944 short crime novel (47,000 words) by Cleve F Adams, under his pseudonym John Spain. It is expanded from a short story "Triple Threat" by Adams published in 1940 in "Detective Story Magazine".

Lieutenant McCord of LAPD detectives gets himself in a tangle involving three identical triplets, one who has gone missing, one who is under suspicion of murder, and one who he has fallen for.

Complicated plot, but typical Cleve F Adams crime novel.
