If you want another comparison shot of both devices at the same time, see my (very old) unboxing thread I find the DR1000 screen to be AT LEAST EQUAL in brightness, if not better compared to the PRS505 (which I like just fine too) Look at the DR1000S-PRS505_off.jpg in particular.

(I have seen the PRS700 next to a PRS505 in a store and it doesn't come even close. I would never buy a device that trades some convenience for such a noticable loss in image quality...)
