Covers on Sideloaded Amazon Books (Fire HD 7th Gen)

Hi

I've been using Calibre for quite some time now, originally with a Paperwhite, but now with a Fire HD 10. I use it primarily to organize my purchases from Amazon along with a few freebies picked up along the way.

Since the technology should be there for reasonably HD covers, I use the Kindle Hi-Res plug-in to find the HD copies of the covers, but on some, when they are sideloaded to the device (either via USB or Calibre Companion), they become pixelated and corrupt. Nothing I have come across seems to suggest why this happens.

Also, I've noticed that when a purchase from Amazon is downloaded directly to the Fire, the cover will occupy the whole screen (black borders, picture to the edge of the screen). When sideloading a book though, the cover will nearly always be inset from the edge of the screen (it basically looks like a picture on a normal 'page' within the book). Is there some option I'm missing somewhere. I've tried the Quality Check plugin, and Fix for Fire, but it seems to have no effect.

Some help in this would be greatly appreciated.
