Mine was a bit stiff, straight from Kobo. The demo units at Chapters were all the same, ditto at Best Buy.

It's why I bought the sleep cover, even if it adds a bit of weight. For the record, I liked having the power button in the back, but the sleep cover makes it bearable when I don't have to reset the device.
