I remember the DX, and my post was not "what about aboutism," it was posted in amused response to the angry subjectivity of your article, reeking of someone feeling personally offended by Kobo for some reason and cherry picking accordingly.
The Forma came out after the Oasis, arguably "a day late", but feature wise definitely not "a dollar short". If anything, that definition would better apply to the Libra, a nearly exact match for the Oasis, except in being many, many dollars short of the Oasis in pricing.
I really couldn't care less about the Elipsa, that niche has zero interest for me, but it is unquestionably true that Kobo has got a jump on its primary competitor with this. Given the vitriol of your article, I am kind of curious whether the tone would have been the same had Amazon been the first of the major Western players to enter this market space instead of Kobo. I'll await your paean on the Kindle version with bated breath. Or not.
