How did you download the ePub 3 that caused the crash?

Directly from the Kobo bookstore through the download link in my account. I then used the Adobe software on my Pocketbook to unlock the DRM as I use Linux for my main computer OS and Adobe has not yet released a Digital Editions version for Linux.
I don't believe I have bought any other EPUB 3 books after my mishap with the book in question. I could possibly find another dirt cheap EPUB 3 book and buy it to try on my device and see if it works? Only if I did that and it ended up working I would face the nightmare of in the future not even knowing if a book I wanted to buy would work on the ereader. A roll of the dice if you will (I wouldn't even buy it if that was the case) unless the full culprit of the problem could be found and solved.
There must be a problem either with the files that I'm getting from Kobo or the onboard ADE software.
