Sorry but as far as I can tell, people have been trying to tell you how to use calibre to get the results you want. Your response is to add more options none of which your directory structure/searching with Everything is going to offer unless you are planning on not reading the ebooks but adding them to an endlessly complex directory structure complete with symlinks. Been there, done that and happy not to be doing it anymore.
At other times, I wonder if you have actually tried to use calibre. Things like missing the Authors item in the Tab browser. Things like the advanced search capabilities. Even the ability to add custom columns, the ability to search in the database which is a lot faster than searching on a file system.
To use your comparison, I would say the advice you are receiving is more on the lines of how to satisfy your sexual partner and less suggesting you switch teams.
OTOH, your attitude seems to be that Kovid Goyal should make his support of calibre even more complex for no visible gain. Again, calibre is a database driven program and not a file system driven program.
At this point, your continued whinging about what will not be changed is accomplishing nothing while being annoying .
Your reasons for wanting to use multiple physical libraries instead of a main library with virtual libraries do not make much sense, IMHO. All it seems to show is a lack of desire or ability to change what you have done in the past. Are you still running Windows 3.1?
