One of the few times I've seen a collection of ebooks with garbage metadata was with a person who asked for help with a 500K+ ebook library he downloaded from a torrent site. From what I saw of it before writing the person off, it had multiple copies of quite a few books with godawful metadata and covers that did not belong to the books.
