Frankly, this one seems like a no-brainer to me. When you’re on a bus, you’re in close and frequently prolonged contact with many other people in an atmosphere where the air isn’t refreshed. So when you step off the bus, you’re in fresh air, are able to maintain some distance, and no longer have prolonged exposure to specific individuals.

In the US, this no longer seems to be a problem. Unfortunately, vaccinations frequently go begging.
