I am quite familiar with the trend.
Many years ago. 1995...when I started to play the very first LPMud Genesis, some males would create female characters because they would get a lot of help with fighting experience, money, quest hints and easier joining to elite guilds from male veterans and champions....they would behave like females and flirt and use all sort of emotions such as hugs, tight hugs, hold close etc...
