Impossible for you to know. Unless Young You can go back and unwatch the original when you first saw it and then watch both for the first time as an adult.
There's no shame in nostalgia clouding your judgement, it would be odder if it didn't.
When you see/read something for the first time has a huge impact on how you're going to judge future projects based on that something.
I loved BSG as a kid. I never watched the remake
because I loved BSG as a kid. That hasn't stopped me from rewatching parts of the original and realizing just how cheesy and awful it really was. Ben Cartwright in space dishing out fatherly advice?? C'mon.
