I would say that the only people who enjoy the original
Battlestar Galactica more than the remake are people who enjoyed the show when it originally ran/when the viewer was much younger.
I couldn't imagine any adult (since I assume that is what all posters here are) who had never seen either series before, watching a few episodes of each preferring the original over the reboot (unless they were enjoying the original as camp).
I'm not especially a fan of either. I watched the original when it was new and I was under ten. I have fond memories. But then I caught a couple of episodes more recently. Like a rewatch of
The Dukes of Hazzard, the nostalgia quickly fell away.
The remake, I watched for a few seasons before I drifted away. I just don't tend to care for long, episodic content. But it is clearly far superior to the show it was based on.
The Peabody Awards, the Emmys, Time magazine, the Television Critics Association, The New York Times, Rotten Tomatoes, Rolling Stone, IMDb and likely any other place that has a review of either series seem to concur.
But Dirk Benedict hated the relaunch. So there's that
