@Pennabianca: If the device is getting to the point where it is prompting you, the a card hasn't been completely wiped. Try a factory reset using the last instructions on
https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Kobo_Reset:_Glo_HD. And check under the bezel to make sure nothing is blocking the IR emitters and sensors.
