My goodness, no remakes of TTM are necessary. It would be sacrilege! Their on screen chemistry was amazing. And the writing was so clever and snappy. Poor Johnny Depp, he's come down a peg or two lately.
It seems now viewers don't have the attention span to follow clever writing, so you need explosions to make it interesting. (How's that for a get-off-my-lawn comment?) I'm all for a good romp with space battles, lens flares, etc. But sometimes I want to see dialog and character development.
And sometimes, nothing but Laurel & Hardy will do. My grandsons, 8, 11, and the cerebral 13 year old, ask to watch some every time they are here. Going to introduce them to Groucho et al next week.
