I think by "real" bazz2004 meant something tangible that you can hold in your hands. As opposed to binary code that requires some kind of electronic device to decode.
"Book" (apparently) comes from the German word for beech — as in "beechwood tablets" where runes were once inscribed.
I think this definition still applies for "real" books...

Which is why eBooks are called "eBooks" (electronic books) to differentiate them from real books — or simply "books."
But I think you knew all this. What I don't understand is why you have to pretend you don't understand what bazz2004 meant by "real books" — the meaning of which is obvious from the context.
