There is a selection effect: this forum is going to be particularly populated with people with problems!
I know that for me, the Oasis 3 I originally complained about is (with a £4 skin to make its back less cold) the single nicest reading device I have ever owned.
Downsides: only that if Amazon goes bust or stops supporting the Kindle library, it'll perhaps be hard to keep my library when my latest Kindle reader wears out, even on a phone or tablet. But I'm confident that if that happens, the latest antipiracy wossname will be cracked in no time and backing the collection up with Calibre will become trivial. So ebooks should reliably outlast the devices they reside on, as long as I don't mind violating that aspect of copyright law that in the mid-2000s was found to also be violated routinely by at least half the House of Commons, including most of the then Cabinet.
