Thanks for the advice. Will keep it in mind when the day comes. Hopefully, they have some service repair centre in Canada where I am as I think it would probably be too expensive to pay for shipping to and then from the US.
However, if worst comes to worst, I'll attempt the manoeuvre myself. I have done it once before with a very cheap tablet when the battery died just out of warranty. Slightly damaged the screen in the process, but it was still functional... and, at least, now I know not to try and pry the battery loose with a screwdriver!!
