I checked out a few of the mac repos listed there:

- MacPorts uses 1.5.1 but misses installing certifi, urllib3, and dulwich as python components
- HomeBrew just grabs and uses our official Mac binary from Releases

I does appear there are only a few truly functioning Linux distributions. I still have no idea why fedora is so far behind on the major distros.
