Are you sure you are doing the factory reset correctly? The instructions are at
https://help.kobo.com/hc/en-us/artic...-your-Kobo-Glo. All of the steps are important. But, with the state of your device, turning the device off will not display the powered-off screen. Holding the power button down for 20 seconds will force the device to turn off.
If that doesn't work, you will probably need to restore an image to the internal card. I can send you a link to the image but you need to enable Private Messaging. This is in the "Edit Options" of the control panel. If this isn't there, it has to be added somehow. You can try posting in

And, if you do need to use the image, I would recommend getting a new SD card. The behaviour you describe could be because the card is failing. The Glo is old enough for this to be the case, and I have seen plenty of reports of this here.
