OK I read four pages of notes looking for a solution so I could figure out how to side load my kobo aura. I've tried everything different computers different laptops different cables USB Upgrades etc. nothing worked. Until I got another kobo what I have right now is an aura got a couple of years ago. That's what I'm trying to side load anyways I just got a new forma. It came with its very own cable :-) plugged it in my computer which is an iMac and boom completely saw the forma. So I use the same cable and tried it on my Aura immediately it was recognized. I had four different types of cables that I had laying around the house I thought it can't be the cables but yes indeed it was it's the cable now I don't know what kind of a special cable kobo uses but if you have one hang onto it. I don't know whether kobo sells separately but with all the grief that I put up with trying to figure out how to make this thing work I would've gladly paid to get a new cable.
