Updated kindle to a newer firmware, jailbroke, and installed KoReader. Still having the same random restarting problem. I opened up the unit and found some crusties near some discrete components (likely capacitors or diodes) as well as near the switch. I cleaned them off with some isopropyl alcohol, and it behaved well for a few days, but now it sleeps as soon as I press the power button.
I did some google searching and it looks like there is no aftermarket part availability. Are other dead kindles the only source these days?
