I had the metadata management set MANUALLY. That's not surprising. I have done a lot of work on the performance of the metadata update.

I am not seeing that. Are you using a metadata plugboard to set the comments/synopsis? If so, what does it look like? If it has any line feeds in it, they can show on the device.
