Why are you turning off your Forma? Just put it to sleep with a sleep cover or the power button. You use more battery turning off the Forma and it takes a lot longer to get it turned on and ready to use.
The problem you are having could be that the database is corrupt. If you install Calibre with the Kobo Utilities plugin, you can check the database on your Forma for errors. If there is anything wrong with the database, you can sign out and sign back in setting it up again.You will have to reload your eBooks. This will fix the database if it is corrupt.
