I tried that one and test-sinhala. For both the result is the same. There is a Noto-Sans-Sinhala font embedded in the epub, and as long as you set the reader program to use it the text displays correctly (from what I can judge, looking at formatting, punctuation and translations). That means "default" font in the stock ereader, and"embedded font" in KOReader. Of course if you use fonts not using that codepage you get funny results, see the attached screenshots.
