FWIW I have my
Main Library (yes, that is its name
) on a different partition (drive letter). That way you can repair Windows with a good chance of it surviving.
Get a Live CD copy of GParted. Great tool for adjusting drive configurations. (many Linux distros also include this on a Linux LiveCD )
You just boot the CD and tweak your drive. It can Shrink or Grow existing partitions within the capability of the drive
