Poke Pro - Crashes regularly since December firmware update

Since installing the firmware update 2020-12-02_13-02_3.0_f8d676e my Poke Pro has crashed regularly while I am reading it.

The touch screen and power button stop working. The only thing that will recover it is to connect a charger. This resets it to power off state, and it then restarts, having forgotten the page I was reading.

After the restart the battery charge indication shows 5-15% power loss.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour? And can anyone suggest a fix, please?
