Well all my Kindles are second hand, but the oldest one (Kindle 1) works perfectly still and still holds a good charge (charging it can be hard you need a small barrel.plug with 4.5/5 volts and center positive and preferably decent amperage).
The Kindle 4 I have also holds an excellent charge, as does my Kindle Touch. Those two I especially don't know the age of but I suspect the K4 is right after the Paperwhite came out, and the Touch was right before the Paperwhite released. I also have a Paperwhite 2 but it needs a new screen and screen assembly/frame...
Of all, my faves are the Kindle Touch and Kindle 4. Really like the touch's IR screen as it is a saviour when wearing gloves.
