I do judge a book by it's cover. There are a lot of books out there and not enough time to read them all. So you have to have some way of choosing which ones to ignore. If the cover is lousy, I just ignore it.

Also, if you are going to be self-published, you need a good cover. Do not use a cover that looks like Photoshop threw up.
