I did something probably stupid and turned off the virus scanner for another try. It did not work.
When trying with the first and the two stories, no dialog came. When successfully trying to load only the second story, it came.
Since it doesn't occur all the time, it's a bit annoying, but not a real problem. I then use WebToEpub for the story instead. FFF is nice enough to the story afterwards and loads the metadata from the page.
