AMOLED or any kind of OLED is shorter life than IPS or any kind of LCD.
Advantages:
Better viewing angle.
Slightly more vibrant colours (but not with realistic natural video & photos).
Lower power consumption with dark scenes or background because there is no backlight outdoors or in bright lighting.
Slightly better contrast in some lighting conditions. Marginal.
There would be no real difference for ebooks unless you want to read white text on black background which might extend battery life.
