I've just finished two books, I Love It When You Talk Retro: Hoochie Coochie, Double Whammy, Drop a Dime, and the Forgotten Origins of American Speech by Ralph Keyes and Season of the Raven the first of Denise Domning's Servant of the Crown medieval mysteries. The first was very fast, superficial read - I learned the origin of a few phrases, but would have liked a slightly slower, more in-depth look at the phrase origins.
I enjoyed Season of the Raven quite a bit more than I expected to - so much so that even the presence of a 12th Century serial killer has not put me off starting on book two in the series.
