My point is that your problem report was lacking in important detail. And you were trying to fix a problem when there was a more fundamental pre-existing problem. As someone who does technical support, I would have expected that to be a problem you would frequently see.
Wrong about which items? Either way, it is possible to be right and not be rude. :-P But I digress. Nonetheless, as I stated... There were two main issues brought up. The conversion issue appears to have been resolved at some point after an update. It didn't work, the book was physically on the device in kepub format as viewable in windows explorer. But the device didn't see it. After troubleshooting many things I had just assumed it still wasn't working, which i have stated was an error. But after testing it more recently it did work, with no change but updates and the kobo utilities database file fix, which i assume was unrelated as we discussed.

The font and layout issues were the presence of the additional font variants and nothing you had mentioned with naming or otherwise. And the relation was not obvious, but reading the wiki another use posted mentioned the variants issue and that led to the resolution of removing the extra font variants. So both are working now and I'm good.
