I've tested DeDRM with versions of ADE up to 4.5.11. The question is the Adobe Content Server configuration for Adobe's hardened DRM. One textbook site is using the hardened DRM with no fallback, other sites I have tested are not using the hardened DRM so no difference in which version of ADE you use. See the attached image for the ACS 4/5/6 matrix with the Mandatory and resource level DRM bits.
