How to refresh a book cover in the Calibre library from the epub?

When I add an epub to the Calibre library, Calibre automatically extracts the cover image in the epub and uses it for the cover meta-data image. If I now use the Calibre editor to replace the cover image with another image, when I save and quit the editor, the library still uses the old cover image. There does not seem to be a simple way to get Calibre to refresh the library cover directly from the new cover image in the epub.

Workarounds (which are not ideal IMHO):
  • Remove the epub and then add it again to the library - you have to be careful not to permanently delete it!
  • Open the new image in an external image editor, copy it, and then in Calibre you can right click the image in the library and select Paste cover.

Am I missing something? Is there an easier way to do this? Is there way to say to the Calibre library - "Refresh the cover (or all meta-data?) from the epub file?".
