What OS and program are you using to extract the file. I download the .txz file from the link in the first message in this thread and generated a SHA-256 for it:

7-Zip 19.00 on Windows 10 x64 was able to open the .txz file and let me dig into the .tar file which I extracted the contents from on my HD. The 7-Zip window is in the attached image.
